Jan 03, 2015  Hi, Just wondering if there is another option to the Wireless File Transmitter WFT-E1/E1A transmitter? I use a 1DS MK ii and would like to be able to view images on a larger screen/ portable device without having a tether. Dec 10, 2005 Re: WFT-E1 Wireless File Transmitter 1dsII/5D In reply to freshlife. Dec 13, 2005 I am considering using the WFT-E1 with my 5D so I contacted Canon UK tech support today having read the posts on this forum.

EyeFi, FlashAir or FluCard might be something to look at.

Hi, Thanks for the reply but the 1DS MK ii has a magnesium body socards like Flash Air cannot transmit through it.

Many Thanks,
Russell.

I've used an eye-fi card successfully in a 1D Mark III. The images literally pop to my phone when I pause taking photos.

The Toshiba Flashair gets past a 7D and a 5D3 both are magnesium bodies? Albeit not as strong or thick? As a 1D series?
Note the 7D needs a CF/SD jacket converter.

Hi, If it was me with the 7D MK ii I would go down the DSLRController route rather than the wifi cards, I use it with my 600D and Nexsus 7 pad.
Just my preference between the two choices ( Not available for the 1DS MK ii as no live view in camera)

Yes, I'm using a Camranger. It creates a WiFi network, that you can use with any android, or Apple device. I use a Samsung Galaxy 10.1 to tether to. You can also control the camera through the tablet. I can set my 6D, 7D, or 7D Mark II on the floor, and set to live view and see what I'm shooting, as I shoot. Also, you can mount the camera on a pole for even more remote shots. The Camranger attaches to the USB port on the side of the camera. If your going to use it on a 7D Mark II, you'll need a 3.0 USB cable. Buy a spare battery, and keep it charged. The Camranger is a battery hog.
